Why Slate

Built for the person on the other side, too.

Most scheduling tools are designed for the sender. Slate makes booking easy for the guest as well, and puts the advanced features in the free plan.

Calendar overlay for guests

Guests can lay their own Google Calendar over your availability and see clashes before they pick. They share free/busy only, never event details.

Ranked availability

Mark the hours you'd rather be booked in. Guests see them first, with a quiet dot, so your best hours fill up first.

Google Meet, automatically

Every booking lands on your Google Calendar with a fresh Meet link and a proper invite for everyone attending.

One link, many durations

Offer 15, 30 or 45 minutes from a single link. The guest picks the length that fits the conversation.

Collective & round robin

Book a time when the whole team is free, or spread meetings fairly across teammates. Both are free.

One-time links

Send a link that works exactly once, even for hidden events. Ideal for VIPs, follow-ups and interviews.

Real guardrails

Buffers, minimum notice, booking windows, daily limits, date overrides and requires-confirmation, all on every event.

Calm notifications

One Google Calendar invite. No flood of reminder texts and emails. Your guests will thank you.

Webhooks & embeds

Pipe bookings into anything with JSON webhooks, or embed your booking page on your own site.

Keyboard-first

Press ⌘K anywhere in the dashboard to jump, copy links and create events without touching the mouse.

Free/busy only. We never read your events.

How it works

Live in two minutes.

  1. 01

    Connect Google

Sign in with Google. Slate checks the calendars you choose for conflicts and writes new bookings to the one you pick.

  2. 02

    Set your hours

Weekly hours, preferred hours, date overrides and buffers. Change them any time and your links update instantly.

  3. 03

    Share your link

Send slate.so/you, or a one-time link. Guests pick a time and both of you get a Google invite with a Meet link.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is Slate really free?

Yes. Unlimited event types, team scheduling, webhooks, one-time links and the guest overlay are all included. We'd rather earn your trust first.

What does Slate do with my Google Calendar?

Slate reads free/busy information from the calendars you choose, so it never offers a time you're already booked. It creates an event, with a Google Meet link, when someone books. It doesn't read the titles or contents of your existing events.

How does the guest calendar overlay work?

On your booking page a guest can connect their Google Calendar with a free/busy-only permission. Slate marks the times they're busy and never stores their calendar. The access expires within the hour.

What are preferred times?

Inside your availability you can mark the hours you'd rather be booked in. Those slots appear first with a small dot, nudging guests toward them without hiding anything else.

Can my team share a link?

Yes. Collective events only offer times when every host is free. Round robin events offer any time someone is free and assign the meeting to whoever has had the fewest recently.

Will my guests get spammed with reminders?

No. Guests get one Google Calendar invite that their calendar app already knows how to remind them about. Reschedules and cancellations update that same invite.

Can guests reschedule or cancel?

Every invite includes a private link where the guest can pick a new time or cancel, without an account. The Meet link stays the same when they reschedule.

Stop the back-and-forth.

Your link is ready in two minutes. Your guests will notice the difference.
